Humility and Understanding

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord.
“As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
Isaiah 55:8-9

“You were wearied by all your ways, but you would not say, ‘It is hopeless.’ You found renewal of your strength, and so you did not faint.” Isaiah 57:10

Life is never easy and it never goes the way we would like it to or rather expect it. This is an infallable truth and indication of how truly small we are as humans, compared to the massive and awsesome God who created us.

It’s not always easy finding our way through life. We fall, and stumble and crawl our way to the end. Through knowing the lord though, we aknowledge that he is always right behind us pulling us up from the dirt when we fall. Through travelling the road to life and the path to God we discover that it is often our own actions that lead us to suffer and stuggle. We grow weary of fighting God all the time, not acknowledging his truth and his ways. God is where we trully find strength and all the attributes we desire. He is the source of these things, but being human we will always try and find these things ourselves. We want the power and we think we can do it on our own. The truth is that we are dead without God. Our cause is hopeless without his aid and his spirit which keeps us alive.

As we progress in our spiritual maturity and understanding, we are often only faced with even more questions, more strife and struggle and even sadness. This is where we begin to become humble in the face of the Lord. we realize the magnitude of who God is and we are humbled because we realize how much we need him. Our every breath hangs on his will. This indeed can be a scary thought, yet it is through this understanding and knowledge that we begin to find ourselves. To really discover who we are in Christ. The impressions and ideals of the world begin to fall away and we begin to rely soley on God. We realize at the end of the day that he is all we have.

Jesus said “Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed-not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence-continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling”

Salvation is a process and a journey, we are purified through the process of life. we do not always understand why we are here or why we have to suffer but through it all, we aknowledge that God is God, he does not fit into our narrow conceptions of him neither does he answer to us as though we have the power to tell him what to do.
Everything is under God’s master plan. We do not know this grand plan, but we are part of it. Everything works together for the glory of his name.
If we know God, we know that we have been amazingly blessed. God has a puprpose for each one of us in his plan. He loves us as his children and he wants to use us to bring more people to know him and to avenge the enemy who is satan. The one who seeks to take as many with him as he can, down to the depths of hell.

So yet we do not always understand God’s plans, we undertand that we are here for his purposes and that ultimately we have a beautiful and uncomprehendable eternity ahead, with him in Heaven. We live not only for this life but for the one to follow.

As we progress in our journey with God, We learn more of who he is, We learn more about ourselves and the world around us. We gain divine wisdom and inspiration and ultimately we should come to crave God more and more with every inch of our souls, for we live not only by bread, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God. This is our sustenance.
